The work

I use design—especially diagrams, visual systems, and built artefacts—to make complex ideas legible.

My work investigates how human needs become concepts; how concepts become language, habits, institutions, and world-models; and how these systems come to feel natural long after the conditions that produced them have changed. I study that process through philosophy and test it through design practice.

The two are not separate bodies of work. Design is the method, evidence, and public form of the inquiry.¹

The philosophical inquiry

I am interested in how social and moral order emerges, persists, and can be revised.

Norms, laws, markets, religions, brands, and organisations are not simply inherited facts. They are accumulated human decisions: responses to biological and social need that pass through language and action, then settle into durable structures. My work traces that movement across the mind, the organisation, society, and civilisation.

The inquiry asks when and how people can participate more deliberately in revising the values and systems that organise collective life—while remaining honest about evidence, power, consequence, and uncertainty.²

The design inquiry

I design products, systems, and visual forms that make complex ideas clearer and everyday life more workable.

Practice is where the inquiry meets constraint: real users, real decisions, real trade-offs, and real consequences. Each project should show that form, function, and meaning are inseparable—and that a diagram, interface, object, or identity can carry an argument rather than merely decorate one.

For whom

The work is for curious readers and practitioners who shape systems: designers, founders, operators, researchers, and institutional leaders. It is for people who want to understand how the worlds they inhabit were made, and what it would take to remake them responsibly.
